How you can embody health sexual expression
Understanding the difference between healthy sexual expression and compulsive sexual behaviour is an important part of sexual wellbeing.
Healthy sexual expression is consensual, mutually fulfilling, and rooted in open communication and mutual respect. It enhances intimacy and overall wellbeing, with a focus on connection and the needs and boundaries of everyone involved.
Compulsive sexual behaviour is different in character. It is driven by an overwhelming urge that disrupts daily life, relationships, and professional responsibilities. It continues despite negative consequences, and is typically accompanied by feelings of guilt, shame, or significant distress.
Recognising where your experience sits on that spectrum, and knowing that professional support exists, is a meaningful first step.
