🌿 Understanding Self-Care - with Counselling Psychologist Dr Louise Hall
This video explores self-care beyond bubble baths and early nights. While rest and enjoyment matter, true self-care is about building an intentional, compassionate relationship with yourself. Relational neuroscience reminds us that how we care for ourselves is shaped by how care was modelled to us. Self-care can mean listening closely to your body, setting boundaries, challenging old beliefs, or gently confronting fears held by protective parts of you. It may involve structuring your day differently, saying no to another demand, or offering reassurance to yourself when anxiety rises. Real self-care moves us from reactivity to calm, and from self-criticism to kindness, creating an inner environment where every part of us feels safe and valued.
