Background
I spent more than a decade as a CPA working with founder-led businesses, mostly US-based, growing into financial controller and CFO roles as those engagements did. Much of it was unglamorous — rebuilding books that had drifted, getting numbers back to a state where someone could actually make a decision from them.
I qualified as a lawyer more recently and am early in my legal career. What I bring is not years in practice but a decade spent looking at the financial realities underneath legal questions, and I am still learning how much the two have to teach each other.
What they do at MindFriend
At MindFriend I work on the founder's side across both halves of what I do: factual legal research and drafting support, alongside bookkeeping, accounting, and business administration. My job is to keep the legal and financial groundwork solid so the rest of the team can focus on building the product. It is a broad brief, which is what I enjoy.

Outside work
Outside work I run and train at the gym, which is the part of my day that has nothing to do with numbers or clauses and is better for it. At home I share the place with more than twenty indoor cats — a household that runs on a schedule stricter than any client's, and one I would not trade.
